RedSafe 6.1.0

RedSafe is an application provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) that can be downloaded free of charge to access humanitarian services. The app adheres to ICRC Data Protection regulations, ensuring the protection and security of all personal data submitted to the ICRC for humanitarian purposes. Users can rest assured that their data is encrypted and not shared with external organizations or entities.

To utilize RedSafe, a smartphone is required; however, limited functionalities are available for web access at www.redsafe.icrc.org.

RedSafe is currently operational in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, and South Africa, offering support in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Key features of RedSafe include:

• Information as Aid: Offering trusted and reliable information on humanitarian assistance and protective measures.
• Digital Vault: Securely upload and store digital copies of essential documents such as passports, birth certificates, and medical records. It also allows for backing up phone contacts.
• Alerts: Receive urgent news updates on specific locations from the ICRC, along with essential emergency contact numbers.
• Map of Services: Locate humanitarian service centers with detailed descriptions, addresses, contact details, and opening hours.
• Messages: Send and receive predefined messages including geolocation, selfies, and contact information securely and confidentially to other app users.
• Offline Access: Save and access selected content from Information as Aid, points of interest from Map of Services, personal documents, or contact lists without an internet connection.

No registration is required to access the Information as Aid section and Alerts. However, if you wish to utilize the Digital Vault or Messages features, creating an account with an email and/or phone number is necessary.

In upcoming updates, RedSafe plans to expand its services to include additional languages and countries.
